Participants

In a personal talk, Dana Kavelina will focus on her shared experience of creating a film about historical events by means of stop-motion animation. The talk will revolve around the film Lemberg Machine, completed in Lviv in 2023. Kavelina will present fragments of the film, along with behind-the-scenes material that captures the experience of collectively inhabiting miniature worlds during a time shaped by displacement. The videos will be accompanied by reflections on the disobedience of still matter, dolls acting as mediators of empathy, and the difficulties and ethics of reenacting the past between seconds.
