Valentyna Petrova

Was born in 1984, Prague – artist, and curator. Currently lives and works in Kyiv. Her art education was through the “Course of Art” (Kyiv, curated by Kateryna Badianova and Lada Nakonechna) and the “School of Engaged Art” (St. Petersburg, run by Chto Delat). Her artistic practice primarily focuses on the themes of work, poverty, discursive violence, and institutional critique. She studies the performative in form. Her approach to formulating a statement involves special attention to context, to the political, and to objectlessness.
