In addition, Wolfgang Tillmans has invited photojournalist Friedrich Bungert to show his photographs from the series Versehrte [Injured]. On one of many trips to Ukraine over the past two years, Bungert was struck by the high number of wounded people in the streets of Kyiv, Dnipro and Lviv. In war, deaths and injuries too often become mere numbers. Reporting on lingering injuries is rare. The fate of the injured is elusive and their stories remain untold. This project was an attempt to change that to some extent.
