Lecture by Ielyzaveta Ievseieva Nova Kakhovka, Oleksandr Dovzhenko’s Dream City: How the Film Director Contributed to the City’s Construction

Oleksandr Dovzhenko devoted the last years of his life to the construction of the Kakhovka HPP and the city of Nova Kakhovka. His interest went beyond using the construction as a theme in his film script. In his diaries, Dovzhenko often reflected on the processes of post-war reconstruction of the country. He was not only a caustic critic, but also an enthusiastic architect of many ideas implemented during construction. Curator and architect Ielyzaveta Ievseieva will talk about this and more during the event. In English
